2020 kicked off with two great festival events. Our first affair was our annual semi-formal Academy Awards Viewing Party which took place at LA Castle Studios. BIFF's elegant event was listed prominently on Variety magazine's
Top Ten Oscar Party List along with Vanity Fair, Elton John and Madonna.

150 guests attended the gala event, walked the red carpet, sipped cocktails, viewed the The Oscars and enjoyed a sumptuous gourmet dinner catered by Chef Jay Lipnicki. We even had a surprise visit from the The Joker who was a real cut-up and posed with attendees for photos and selfies.

Our second event was an Audition Technique and Self-Tape workshop taught by working actor and festival president Jeff Rector, Casting Director Terry Berland and working actor & self-tape guru Tim Powell. It's more vital than ever to set-up your own self-tape studio at home to audition and to continue book work.

The Burbank International Film Festival is celebrating a second year with our LGBTQ category. Submit a short film in any genre as long as it features LGBTQ characters, storylines or themes.

As a festival Board Member and judge, I am always excited to see the wide variety, creativity and unique perspectives from filmmakers in this category. Join us in our mission to promote and support culturally diverse and inclusive programming through the art of independent filmmaking.

In addition to screening at the festival, the top films selected will air on HERE TV, the category sponsor, America's first and most recognized premium LGBTQ+ television Network and media outlet.

Don't delay as submission fees go up on May 1. We look forward to receiving and viewing  your project. Click to submit your film, screenplay or web series.
